Music Plants
今回のインスタレーション「Music Plants」は、音楽レーベル「Vegetable Record」、ランドスケープデザイナー「WOODSMART」、デザインスタジオ「penotea studio」の３者のコラボレーション作品です。
展示コンセプトは「ミュージックパーク」「ストリート」「インタラクティブ」。今回、空間を「音楽メディア」のひとつと捉え、音楽・植栽・人感センサーを使って、下北沢の街中に音楽の公園を出現させました。音楽デザインとランドスケープデザインを組み合わせる事で、五感に訴えるような新しい空間デザインの可能性を探求します。
「下北沢の街中にあるギャラリーに行くと音楽の公園が広がっている」、そんな少し驚きのある、日常の延長線上にある非日常体験をぜひご体験ください。
This installation "Music Plants" is a collaboration of three parties: the music label "Vegetable Record", the landscape designer "WOODSMART", and the design studio "penotea studio”.
The exhibition concept is "music park," "street," and “interactive. We viewed this space as one of the "music media" and have created a musical park in the city of Shimokitazawa using music, plantings, and human sensors. By combining music design and landscape design, we will explore the possibilities of new space design that you can feel with all five senses.
We hope you will experience an extraordinary experience in daily life like "walking into a gallery in Shimokitazawa and finding a music park spreading out before you.

バイオリン、ハープ、ピアノ、シンセサイザー、エレクトリックギターを主に使用。「人工的な自然」をテーマに神秘的で少し未来の森をイメージ。エレキギター、シンセサイザーで鳥の鳴き声を電子的に模したり、バイオリンやハープ、チェロのフレーズで神秘的な雰囲気を目指しました。

サックス、クラリネット、シンセベース、ハンドベル、アコースティックギターなどを使用。「植物のアンサンブル」をテーマに、プリミティブなフレーズを幾重に織り交ぜ、それぞれの植木が人々と交流を試みているような雰囲気を目指しました。

The instruments are violin, harp, piano, synthesizer, and electric guitar. Under the theme of "Artificial Nature”, we expressed a mysterious and slightly futuristic forest with music. We imitated birdcalls by electric guitars and synthesizers , and create a mystical atmosphere by violin, harp, and cello phrases.

The instruments are saxophone, clarinet, synth bass, handbells, and acoustic guitar. Under the theme of “Plant's Ensemble”, we interweaved layers of primitive phrases to express the interaction between the planted trees and the people with music.

スティールパン、エレクトリックギターを使用。温州みかんの柑橘系の香り、酸味、苦味をエフェクトをかけたスティールパンのトレモロとギターのフレーズで表現。人感センサースピーカーにより、植栽に触れると楽曲が流れます。

アコースティックギター、ホイッスル、シンセサイザーを使用。風で木々が揺れる様子や、植物に集まる鳥や虫を音楽で表現。人感センサースピーカーにより、植栽の下をくぐり抜けると38種類の短い楽曲がランダムに流れます。

マリンバ、バイオリン、クラリネット、スティールパン、サックスを使用。座った人に周りの木々がゆるやかに反応していくような様子を音楽で表現。人感センサースピーカーにより、ベンチに腰掛けると28種類の短い楽曲が流れてきます。

The instruments are steel pan and electric guitar. We expressed the citrus aroma, acidity, and bitterness of Satsuma Mandarins using steel pan tremolo with effects and guitar phrases. When you touch or smell the plants, human sensor speaker plays music.
＜d / #4 Walking Through (00:02～00:03)＞
The instruments are acoustic guitar, whistle, and synthesizer. We expressed the swaying of trees in the wind and birds and insects attracted to the plants with music. When you walk through the plants, human sensor speaker plays music 38 different short songs at random.
＜e / #5 Sitting on (00:18〜00:57)＞
The instruments are marimba, violin, clarinet, steel pan, saxophone. We expressed the gentle response of the surrounding trees to the person sitting on the bench with the music. When you sit on the bench, human sensor speaker plays music 28 different short songs at random.

Vegetable Record / ベジタブルレコード
「音楽の新しい楽しみ方・価値観を創る」をコンセプトに掲げた、音楽レーベル。ソロアーティストのSyotaro Hayashi（左）とRyota Mikami（右）により設立。デジタル/商業空間/プロダクトなどあらゆる対象を、CD/カセット/レコードと同じ音楽のメディアとして捉え、建築空間やプロダクトに対して音楽作品をリリースするように「音楽を使った空間デザイン」「音楽を使ったプロダクトデザイン」などを手がけています。ワークショップやライブ、インスタレーションも多数開催。
Music Label founded by artists Syotaro Hayashi (L) and Ryota Mikami (R), based on the concept of "Create new ways of enjoying music and new values of music". We perceive digital and commercial space/product as the "New Media of Music" the same as CD/Cassette/Record, and we are releasing "Spatial design using music", "Product design using music" like releasing music works for architectural space or products. Also, we have held many workshops, live performances and installations.

WOODSMART / ウッズマート
「植木の魅力で、より豊かな暮らしを目指して」を理念に、グリーンコーディネーターやランドスケープデザイナーとして活動。オープンスペースや商業施設、ホテル等のあらやる場所を対象に、グリーン（植木）を軸とした空間の設計施工を得意とする。グリーンインフラ大賞国土交通大臣賞、GOOD DESIGN賞、都市緑化機構会長賞などの受賞経歴。株式会社BIOTA、Green Neighbors合同会社、一般社団法人ドコデモヒロバのパートナー。
Green coordinator and landscape designer with the philosophy of "aiming for a better life with the charm of plants”. He specializes in the design and construction of green spaces (plantings) for open spaces, commercial facilities, hotels, and other places where people do things. Awards received include the MLIT’s Award of the Green Infrastructure, the GOOD DESIGN Award, and the Chairman's Award of Organization for Landscape and Green Infrastructure. Also, he is a partner of BIOTA, Green Neighbors, and Dokodemo Hiroba.
